Who
My name is Danny Stewart. I live in Rockville, Maryland where I work as a help desk technician and IT consultant. I dabble in web design, electronic music, and film scoring.
I wrote the score for Restoration of the Daleks, a Doctor Who fan film, as well as numerous other independent films. I also write and contribute to numerous arrangements of the Doctor Who theme music.
Murray Gold, current composer for Doctor Who, has called me a “mean, two-faced, rude, and inconsiderate young man,” a description in which I take great pride. You can always judge a man by the quality of his enemies.
Unlike Marco, you’re welcome to email me. I read every email, but I can’t guarantee a response. The best way to get in touch is via Twitter.
What
- Doctor Who ringtones (a collection of Doctor Who themes and sound effects)
- Murray’s latest theme (a partial guide to the Doctor Who theme bassline)
- Steve Jobs (my reflection after the death of Steve Jobs)
- Want to get me something? I love classic Doctor Who DVDs
How
My setup consists of a 27” iMac and a 13” MacBook Air, along with an iPhone 4S and iPad. For music, I use Logic Studio along with an abundance of hardware and software synths, chief among them being a Roland Juno-6, Korg microKORG XL, u-he Zebra, and numerous others.
This site is written in Markdown using BBEdit, Dropbox, and the awesome Second Crack by Marco Arment. It is hosted on a custom Debian server with Linode.
Where
I am the proud co-administrator of Whomix, a resource for Doctor Who fans to share their takes on the iconic theme music.
I’ve also had the honor of being interviewed a few times around the web, including:
- Doctor Who: Podshock episode 160 (with Dominic Glynn)
- The Flashing Blade Podcast episode 1–56
- Adventures in Time, Space, and Music (episode forthcoming)
