Welcome to the newly updated DannyStewart.com. In the sprit of the new year, not to mention the new Doctor, I’ve decided that it’s time for a bit of a change for the various facets of my online persona. That means a new look for DannyStewart.com, a new theme for my Twitter profile, and a new avatar across all of my various accounts. I hope you like the new design. As always, comments are welcome.

Happy new year!

Restoration of the Daleks

I’m immensely proud to finally be able to share that Restoration of the Daleks, the Doctor Who fan film that I scored earlier this year, is now available for viewing online. It was written by Luke Pietnik, and produced by Rob Ritchie.

My complete score is available for download here, and people who download the full album will receive a special, unused version of the Doctor Who theme (made for the film) as well.

Keff McCulloch interview

Last weekend I undertook the daunting and long overdue task of cleaning out my closet. Inside, I found a box full of old Doctor Who VHS tapes I’d misplaced, one of which contained this gem. Hit the jump to watch (and apologies for the quality; the only way I had to digitize it was by recording it with my iPhone).

Stargate’s impulsiveness

Posted in Media on October 18th, 2009View Comments

stargate I just posted a new article for Eye of Harmony called “Live Fast and Prosper: How Stargate’s Impulsiveness Could Kill the Franchise.”

In it, I discuss the impulsiveness and attention deficit problem of the producers behind the Stargate franchise, and some of the missteps I feel they’ve made. Please take a look if you’re interested.

Bringing back music payment

Posted in Music, Site News on October 12th, 2009View Comments

Someone paid for one of my tracks today on my music site, which, needless to say, was cause for much rejoicing. This was actually a mistake, as I’d forgotten to disable the paid download option on that particular track, but still. In light of that, I have decided to re-enable optional payment for all my original music. Here’s how it’s going to work:

Doctor Who Themes
Unfortunately I can’t accept payment for Doctor Who themes, as much as I’d like to (it’s not like I don’t put a lot of work into them). But if I even offered it as an option, the BBC would come and lynch me. If you really like my Doctor Who themes, I’d be thrilled if you would consider making a small donation using the Donate button on my Contact page, or buy some of my other music.

Original Music
All my original music will continue to be available at no cost in 128 kbps MP3 format only. If you would like it in higher quality, or just want to support me, you can specify any amount you would like to pay for any track or album, according to these basic guidelines:
Individual Track (album or standalone): $1 minimum (or 128 kbps MP3 for free)
Full Album (<5 tracks): $3 minimum (no full album download for free, individual tracks only)
Full Album (5+ tracks): $5 minimum (no full album download for free, individual tracks only)

Thanks so much to everyone willing to support me, and I hope you find the new system agreeable.
