The Eleventh Hour, version 2
Posted in Doctor Who Theme, Music on April 22nd, 2010 by Danny Stewart – View CommentsI am pleased to announce the release of version 2 of my The Eleventh Hour Doctor Who theme remix. This is a radical overhaul of the original, which has been preserved as a “TV Version” of the mix (still available from my music page and in the post below).
In addition to extending the length of the theme, I have totally redone the bassline, bringing it more in line with how I feel a proper Doctor Who bassline should sound (clear and driving). There are also a bunch more little flourishes and touches by me in there.

UPDATE 2010-04-23: I whipped up a “Derbyshire mix” just for fun last night when I got home from work. Quick and dirty, but I like it.
I’ve been listening to Murray Gold’s latest theme a lot over the past few days, and it’s grown on me significantly since I first heard it. I actually now think it is the best version of the theme that Murray has done. That said, there are still some things that he’s gotten “wrong” about the theme, and what bothers me is that people might be learning how the theme works from Murray Gold’s versions instead of the originals. So without further ado, here is a small lesson on how the Doctor Who theme works.
